tween

Community Guidelines

Effective August 4, 2026

tween is for people who play basketball. These are the rules for what you can post, what gets taken down, and what happens to accounts that break them.

They apply everywhere in the app: posts, videos, comments, court reviews, court photos, usernames, bios, direct messages, court chats, and group chats.

What is not allowed

Anything involving children

Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is banned outright. There is no warning and no appeal. We remove it, we permanently ban the account, and we report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which we are required by US law to do. This also covers grooming, sexualizing a minor, and asking a minor for images.

Nudity and sexual content

No nudity and no pornography: genitals, breasts, and sex acts are removed. No sexual solicitation. Suggestive photos, thirst traps, and crude jokes are not nudity and are not removed.

Hate

We remove content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation, and we remove hate symbols. Basketball is played by everyone.

This is about what is being done to someone, not about which words appear. Slurs used within a community that has reclaimed them, quoted lyrics, and people talking about racism are not the same thing as racism, and we do not treat them as though they were. A person reads these reports, not a word list.

Harassment and bullying

No targeting someone with insults, no pile-ons, no threats, no sexual harassment, and no posting someone's private information such as their home address, phone number, or workplace. Trash talk about a game is fine. Going after a person is not.

Violence and danger

No threats of violence, no glorifying it, no organizing it. Nothing graphic or gory.

Suicide and self-harm

No encouraging or instructing anyone toward self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.

If you are struggling, help is free and available right now. In the US, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. Both are open 24 hours a day.

Illegal and regulated goods

No selling drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or anything else you cannot legally sell to a stranger.

Spam, scams, and fake accounts

No bulk posting, no engagement farming, no phishing, no fake giveaways. Do not pretend to be another person, a brand, or a team you have nothing to do with. Parody is fine when it is obviously parody.

Other people's work

Only post media you made or have the right to post. If you own something posted here without permission, email us and we will take it down.

Court information

Courts on the map are real places. Do not submit fake courts, wrong locations, or joke names, and do not review a court you have never been to.

What is fine

Worth saying plainly, because a lot of apps are vague about it:

How to report something

Every post, video, comment, review, message, and account in tween has a menu with Report in it. On a message, hold the bubble. Pick the reason that fits best, since that is what decides how fast it reaches us.

You can also block anyone from the same menu or from their profile. A block is immediate and works in both directions: they cannot message you, and their posts and comments disappear from your app. Blocking is private and the other person is never told.

Reporting is anonymous. We never tell someone who reported them.

What happens after you report

A person reviews every report, usually within 24 hours. Reports about child safety, self-harm, and hate go to the front of the queue and are looked at as fast as we can get to them.

When enough separate people report the same thing, it is hidden automatically while it waits for review, so nobody has to keep looking at it in the meantime.

What happens to accounts that break the rules

Most of the time we remove the content and warn the account. Repeat violations escalate:

ViolationsWhat happens
1 to 2Content removed, warning sent
3Suspended for 7 days
4Suspended for 30 days
5Permanently banned

Serious violations skip the ladder. Child sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, and coordinated harassment mean a permanent ban on the first offense.

Violations expire after 180 days, so one bad week years ago does not follow you forever.

If you think we got it wrong

Automated systems and tired humans both make mistakes. If we removed something of yours or suspended your account and you believe that was wrong, email montgomerydube@gmail.com with your username and what happened. We will look at it again.
